Rui Marques

Rui Marques is Assistant Professor at University of Azores (UAc). He holds a degree in Geology from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL), a Master's in Volcanology, and a PhD in Geology from the UAc. His field of specialization focuses on geological hazards, particularly on the research of landslides. He was CEO and president of the board of the Azores Seismovolcanic Information and Surveillance Centre (CIVISA). Currently, he is the coordinator of the Geosciences Department of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the UAc. Additionally, he is the coordinator of the Research Unit for Slope Movements and Floods and is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Institute for Research in Volcanology and Risk Assessment (IVAR) at the UAc.
