Last 24 hours:  

384 new positive cases of covid-19 were diagnosed, with 182 on the island of São Miguel, 96 on the island of Terceira, 44 on the island of Faial, 24 on the island of Pico, 15 on the island of Flores, 13 on the island of São Jorge, six on the island of Santa Maria and four on the island of Graciosa, following 1,791 tests carried out.  

Municipalities:  

São Miguel Island - 108 in Ponta Delgada, 27 in Lagoa, 23 in Ribeira Grande, 14 in Povoação and 10 in Vila Franca do Campo. 

Terceira Island - 61 in Angra do Heroísmo and 35 in Praia da Vitória. 

Faial Island - 44 in Horta.   

Pico Island - 11 in Madalena, 11 in Lajes and two in São Roque.  

Flores Island - nine in Santa Cruz and six in Lajes.  

São Jorge Island – 10 in Velas and three in Calheta.  

Santa Maria Island - six in Vila Porto. 

Graciosa Island – four in Santa Cruz.  

Recoveries:  

A total of 1,195 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.  

Hospitalisations:  

As of today, there are 22 patients hospitalised, 14 of them at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel (two in intensive care), three at the Horta Hospital on the island of Faial and five at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island.   

Current situation:  

The archipelago currently registers 2,103 active positive cases: 983 on the island of São Miguel, 596 on the island of Terceira, 176 on the island of Faial, 140 on the island of São Jorge, 116 on the island of Pico, 49 on the island of Graciosa, 29 on the island of Flores, 13 on the island of Santa Maria and one on the island of Corvo.  

Vaccination:       

From December 31, 2020, to March 8, 2022, 215,952 people in the Azores already have complete primary vaccination (89.9%) and 118,903 people have already received the booster dose (50.3%).  
As of today, 6,668 children had been inoculated with the first dose of the vaccine, corresponding to 39.1% of a universe of 17,033 children between the ages of 5 and 11.
