556 new positive cases of covid-19 were diagnosed, with 192 on the island of São Miguel, 143 on the island of Terceira, 89 on the island of Pico, 63 on the island of Faial, 33 on the island of São Jorge, 21 on the island of Flores, eight on the island of Corvo, four on the island of Graciosa and three on the island of Santa Maria, following 2,345 tests carried out.
Municipalities:
São Miguel Island - 127 in Ponta Delgada, 28 in Ribeira Grande, 22 in Lagoa, nine in Vila Franca do Campo, four in Nordeste and two in Povoação.
Terceira Island - 81 in Angra do Heroísmo and 62 in Praia da Vitória.
Graciosa Island – four in Santa Cruz.
Pico Island - 41 in Lajes, 37 in Madalena and 11 in São Roque.
São Jorge Island – 23 in Velas and 10 in Calheta.
Flores Island – 11 in Santa Cruz and 10 in Lajes.
Corvo Island – eight new positive cases.
Faial Island - 63 in Horta.
Santa Maria Island - three in Vila Porto.
Recoveries:
A total of 763 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.
Hospitalisations:
As of today, there are 33 patients hospitalised, 21 of them at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel (two in intensive care), seven at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island and five at the Horta Hospital.
Current situation: The archipelago currently registers 3,920 active positive cases: 2,478 on the island of São Miguel, 642 on the island of Terceira, 298 on the island of Pico, 213 on the island of Faial, 104 on the island of São Jorge, 110 on the island of Graciosa, 45 on the island of Flores, 19 on the island of Corvo and 11 on the island of Santa Maria.
Vaccination:
From December 31, 2020, to February 25, 2022, 210,383 people in the Azores already have complete primary vaccination (89.0%) and 116,269 people have already received the booster dose (49.2%).
As of today, 6,551 children had been inoculated with the first dose of the vaccine, corresponding to 38.5% of a universe of 17,033 children between the ages of 5 and 11.
