Last 24 hours:
1,130 new positive cases of covid-19 were diagnosed, with 747 on the island of São Miguel, 246 on the island of Terceira, 32 on the island of São Jorge, 28 on the island of Pico, 23 on the island of Faial, 23 on the island of Santa Maria, 18 on the island of Flores and 13 on the island of Graciosa, following 3,718 tests.
On the island of Sao Miguel, 481 new positive cases were registered in Ponta Delgada, 122 in Ribeira Grande, 92 in Lagoa, 35 in Vila Franca do Campo, 14 in Nordeste and three in Povoação.
The island of Terceira registered 157 new positive cases in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo and 89 in the municipality of Praia da Vitória.
On the island of São Jorge, 23 new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Velas and nine in the municipality of Calheta.
The island of Pico registered 12 new cases in the municipality of Madalena, 10 in the municipality of Lajes and six in the municipality of São Roque.
The islands of Faial and Santa Maria registered 23 new cases, respectively.
On the island of Flores, 17 new cases were registered in the municipality of Lajes and one in the municipality of Santa Cruz.
Graciosa registers 13 new positive cases.
Hospitalisations:
As of today, there are 67 patients hospitalised, 52 of them at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel (four in intensive care), 11 at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island (two in intensive care) and four at the Horta Hospital (one in intensive care).
Deaths:
In the last 24 hours, a 90-year-old man, resident in Rabo Peixe, municipality of Ribeira Grande, São Miguel Island, died from covid. He was vaccinated with a booster, but had multiple "comorbid conditions."
Recoveries:
A total of 968 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.
Current situation:
The archipelago currently registers 17,426 active positive cases: 14,262 on the island of São Miguel, 2,309 on the island of Terceira, 211 on the island of Faial, 184 on the island of Pico, 179 on the island of São Jorge, 150 on the island of Graciosa, 96 on the island of Santa Maria and 35 on the island of Flores.
From December 31, 2020, to February 9, 2022, 208,798 people in the Azores already have complete primary vaccination (88.3%) and 102,268 people have already received the booster dose (43.3%).
As of today, 5,918 children had been inoculated with the first dose of the vaccine, corresponding to 34.7% of a universe of 17,033 children between the ages of 5 and 11.
