Secretaria Regional da Cultura, da Ciência e Transição Digital
The Regional Secretariat for Culture, Science and Digital Transition, through the Regional Directorate for Culture and the Angra do Heroísmo Museum, and in collaboration with the Urban Sketchers of Terceira Island and the Silveira fish shop, promotes a sketching session on Saturday, February 12, at 2 p.m. at São Francisco Building. The event held under the title "Peixe Fresco" (fresh fish) will feature a series of drawings of different fish species that can be found in the Azores sea.
This activity is carried out under the programme to promote the scientific illustration exhibition by João Pedro Barreiros, "Retratos de Meros" (portraits of groupers). It displays forty original drawings of these bony fish specimens belonging to the Epinephelidae family, which currently comprises about 160 species.
The session aims to stimulate the taste for observation and drawing. It will be open to the public in general and will be preceded by a guided visit by João Pedro Barreiros to the aforementioned exhibition, which is on display at the Chapter Room until March 27. The pandemic prevention measures in force will be observed during the event.
The Regional Directorate for Culture informs that this and other events may be consulted in the Cultural Agenda of the Azores Culture Portal at the following address: www.culturacores.azores.gov.pt.
