Last 24 hours:

1,423 new positive cases of covid-19 were diagnosed, with 1,095 on the island of São Miguel, 234 on the island of Terceira, 28 on the island of Faial, 26 on the island of São Jorge, 20 on the island of Pico, 12 on the island of Santa Maria, six on the island of Graciosa and two on the island of Flores, following 4,941 tests. 

On the island of São Miguel, 631 new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Ponta Delgada, 247 in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, 93 in the municipality of Lagoa, 80 on the municipality of Vila Franca do Campo, 31 in the municipality of Povoação and 13 in the municipality of Nordeste.

The island of Terceira registered 172 new positive cases in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo and 62 in the municipality of Praia da Vitória.

The island of Faial registered 28 new cases.

On the island of São Jorge, 20 new cases were registered in the municipality of Velas and six in the municipality of Calheta. 

The island of Pico registered 11 new cases in the municipality of Madalena, seven in the municipality of São Roque and two in the municipality of Lajes.   

The island of Santa Maria has 12 new cases.

The island of Graciosa registered six new cases.

On the island of Flores, a new positive case was registered in the municipality of Lajes and another in the municipality of Santa Cruz. 

Hospitalisations:   

As of today, there are 60 patients hospitalised, 39 of them at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel (five in intensive care), 17 at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island (four in intensive care) and four at the Horta Hospital (one in intensive care). 

Recoveries:  

A total of 855 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.     

 Deaths:  

In the last 24 hours, two people died at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital in Ponta Delgada, both from the municipality of Ponta Delgada: an 84-year-old woman, resident in Relva, vaccinated, but without booster dose, and a 91-year-old woman, resident in Arrifes, vaccinated with a single dose.

Current situation:  

The archipelago currently registers 15,616 active positive cases: 12,251 on the island of São Miguel, 2,408 on the island of Terceira, 303 on the island of Faial, 243 on the island of Pico, 177 on the island of São Jorge, 145 on the island of Graciosa, 57 on the island of Santa Maria and 32 on the island of Flores.

From December 31, 2020, to February 2, 2022, 207,740 people in the Azores already have complete primary vaccination (87.9%) and 90,714 people have already received the booster dose (38.4%).
