Last 24 hours:     

1,190 new positive cases of covid-19 were diagnosed, with 776 on the island of São Miguel, 283 on the island of Terceira, 61 on the island of Pico, 40 on the island of Faial, 11 on the island of Santa Maria, 10 on the island of São Jorge, five on the island of Flores and four on the island of Graciosa, following 4,604 tests carried out. 

On the island of São Miguel, 310 new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Ponta Delgada, 284 in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, 69 in the municipality of Vila Franca, 67 in the municipality of Lagoa, 32 in the municipality of Nordeste and 14 in the municipality of Povoação.

The island of Terceira registered 217 new positive cases in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo and 66 in the municipality of Praia da Vitória. 

The island of Pico registered 28 new positive cases in the municipality of Madalena, 23  in the municipality of São Roque and 10 in the municipality of Lajes.  

The island of Faial registered 40 new cases in the municipality of Horta. 

On the island of Santa Maria, there are 11 new cases in the municipality of Vila do Porto.

On the island of São Jorge, eight new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Velas and two in the municipality of Calheta. 

On the island of Flores, three new cases were registered in the municipality of Lajes and two in the municipality of Santa Cruz.  

In Graciosa, four new cases were registered in the municipality of Santa Cruz.

Hospitalisations:     

As of today, there are 50 patients hospitalised, 35 of them at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel (three in intensive care), 13 at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island (three in intensive care) and two at the Horta Hospital.  

Recoveries:     

A total of 708 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.    

Current situation:    

The archipelago currently registers 7,057 active positive cases: 5,001 on the island of São Miguel, 1,245 on the island of Terceira, 310 on the island of Pico, 299 on the island of Faial, 101 on the island of São Jorge, 41 on the island of Flores, 36 on the island of Santa Maria and 24 on the island of Graciosa. 

From December 31, 2020, to January 20, 2020, 205,209 people in the Azores already have complete primary vaccination (86.8%) and 72,582 people have already received the booster dose (30.7%).
