Regional covid-19 vaccination plan sets schedule for booster dose

The update made on Thursday to the regional covid-19 vaccination plan introduces and defines criteria for the vaccination of children aged between 5 and 11, with priority being given to children with diseases.   It also provides the possibility of administering a booster dose with Moderna's Spikevax vaccine.  The Region will receive this weekend, for the first time, these vaccines.  The change introduced to eligible population groups and the establishment of a schedule for the inclusion of various age groups for booster vaccination have also been included in the plan. 

Hence, the eligible groups are now as follows:

- Residents and users of Residential Homes for the Elderly and Continuing Care Units;

- Residents and users of Mental Institutions, Occupational Activity Centres and similar facilities;

- Health professionals (public and private sectors) and other care providers;

- Staff from Residential Homes for the Elderly, Mental Care Institutions and Continuing Care Units, involved in the direct provision of care;

- Firefighters;

- People 18 years of age and over after primary vaccination with Janssen®covid-19 Vaccine;

As of January 17, all people aged 40 or over will be eligible, with priority status awarded to the scheduling of people with high-risk diseases identified in the second phase of the vaccination plan. From January 31, all people aged 30 or older will be eligible, with priority being given to people with high-risk diseases identified in the second phase of the vaccination plan.    

As of February 14, all people aged 18 or older will be eligible, with priority status awarded to people with high-risk diseases identified in the second phase of the vaccination plan.
