Interjovem card with inter-island air travel at 21 Euros round trip - Communication

Young Interjovem Card holders will have the opportunity to travel between islands for 21 euros round trip and 15 euros one way, announced the Regional Secretariat for Youth, Housing and Employment.

This special Christmas campaign for the Interjovem Card, promoted by the Regional Directorate for Youth, is valid for flights operated by Sata Air Açores between December 1 and 31, according to the Order issued by the Regional Secretary for Youth, Housing and Employment, Maria João Carreiro, published today in the Official Journal.

The government official explained that this campaign aims to "reinforce the advantages of the Interjovem Card at a time when there is greater mobility among young people, particularly young students returning to their island of origin to spend the Christmas season."

"The Interjovem Card has been renewed and has more advantages, so our challenge is to increase the benefits associated with this card as this will represent more opportunities for young people, also in terms of mobility within the Region," she stressed.

750 Interjovem cards have already been sold this year, corresponding to a public investment of 45 thousand Euros. 

Since 2021, more than 2,350 Interjovem cards have been issued in the Region, with an overall investment of more than 150 thousand Euros to date.

The Interjovem Card is an initiative of the Regional Government to promote youth mobility in the archipelago. It offers commercial advantages and discounts to young people between 13 and 30 who were born in or are residents of the Azores. 

Since 2021, various improvements and advantages have been implemented to add value to the Interjovem Card, such as the 20% discount on the Azores Fare. This means that young people pay a maximum of 48 Euros for an inter-island flight (round trip), and the same booking conditions have been ensured for the Interjovem Fare. 

The Interjovem Card can be purchased on the website https://www.cartaointerjovem.com or on the new APP for mobile devices. Payment can be made via MBWay, ATM Reference or Credit Card, through the RIAC payment platform.

The Interjovem Card has more than 100 partners on all the islands of the archipelago, guaranteeing young cardholders a minimum of 10% discount on the services provided by the respective partners.
