The Vice-President of the Regional Government, Artur Lima, met today in Lisbon with the President of the Portuguese Trade & Investment Agency (AICEP), Ricardo Arroja, to discuss, among other topics, the economic development of the Region and the attraction of external investment.

"We talked about the participation of the Azores in Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan. We believe this event will be an excellent platform to promote the Azores internationally, presenting the best of our products, culture and innovation. In addition, we discussed various important issues for the economic development of the Azores, stressed the Vice-President of the Government.

Artur Lima pointed out that they also discussed the "need for closer collaboration between the Regional Government and AICEP with a view to supporting Azorean companies in their internationalisation."

He continued: "We also talked about the major export potential of Azorean products, such as dairy products, fish and wines, and how together we can strengthen the presence of these products in external markets, boosting the visibility and competitiveness of our regional production."

Attracting external investment to the Azores was another "key topic" in the meeting with Ricardo Arroja. They discussed "strategies to attract more investment, harnessing the unique potential" of the Azores' geographical location and the opportunities provided by the Region.

"I am confident that this meeting will strengthen our partnership with AICEP and open up new opportunities for the Azorean economy," he said.
