The 25th Regional Skills Championship will take place from May 13 to 17 at the Praia da Vitória Vocational School on Terceira Island, an initiative that, once again, celebrates the excellence of Vocational Education in Vocational Schools. It is promoted by the Regional Secretariat for Youth, Housing and Employment, through the Regional Directorate for Vocational Training and Employment.

This year's edition will see the largest number of participants in the regional championships - more than a hundred, including 86 participants, 18 jury presidents and 23 judges.

This edition will also see the largest number of participating vocational schools (13) and occupations (18).

The regional winners will represent the Region at PortugalSkills, taking place from November 12 to 16 in Santa Maria da Feira, where the representatives of Portugal will be selected for EuroSkills Herning (Denmark), scheduled for September 2025, and WorldSkills Shanghai (China), scheduled for September 2026.

In addition to the young people competing for the best places in each occupation, the 25th Regional Skills Championship will also feature public initiatives, such as technical skills demonstration sessions, sessions featuring business owners and employers, and sessions involving young people enrolled in regular and vocational education.

All the initiatives will take place at the Praia da Vitória Vocational School.

On May 16, the conference ‘Empowering the Azores for the Future: The Impact of New Technologies on Occupations’ will be held at 9:30 am, as part of the Regional Forum for Vocational Training and the Regional Agenda for Vocational Training - Horizon 2030.
