President of the Government bestowed with highest honour of Order of the Camino de Santiago - Communication

The President of the Regional Government, José Manuel Bolieiro, was bestowed with the Grand Cross of the Order of the Camino de Santiago, the highest distinction of this order, at a ceremony held today in Madalena do Pico.

"I would like to say how honourable this moment is for me, its solemnity, but also the heartfelt expression of the friendship we build in life with good people," he said.

Addressing those present at the session, held at the Madalena Town Hall, José Manuel Bolieiro praised the "value of people" and territories that initiatives like this represent.

The President of the Government recalled the role of religious tourism in uniting peoples and also in the economic field, among others.

The members of the Order of the Camino de Santiago, led by Alejandro Rubín Carballo, are in Madalena do Pico this weekend for a working session.
