Professor Félix Carvalho delivers lecture at University of the Azores on drug-related challenges

The Lecture on "Classic Drugs and New Psychoactive Substances - Sophisms and Challenges" will be delivered by Professor Félix Carvalho at the University of the Azores next Saturday, July 29, at 9:30 am.

The lecture is directed to the teams involved in the treatment of addictive behaviours and dependencies, other entities working in this area, and the three regional commissions for the deterrence of drug addictions.

The event can be followed via Teams through the invitation made by the Regional Directorate for the Prevention and Control of Dependencies, with the respective link, sent to all Island Health Units of the archipelago.

The session will be attended by the Regional Secretary for Health and Sport, Mónica Seidi, and the Regional Director for Prevention and Control of Dependencies, Pedro Fins.

The guest speaker is responsible for the Toxicology Laboratory and President of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Pharmacy - University of Porto; President of the Northern Regional Section of the Portuguese Pharmacists' Association; Member of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Portugal; President of EUROTO and member of the Medicines Evaluation Commission of INFARMED - National Authority of Medicines and Health Products.

The session will be open to questions from the audience.
