The IV International Workshop on Natural Hazards, under the theme "Geotechnical Risks" will be held at the Capelinhos Volcano Interpretation Centre, on the island of Faial, Azores.

The Interpretation Centre of the Capelinhos Volcano, located in the parish of Capelo (Faial Island), has an informative, didactic and scientific character, and the building is buried, so as not to interfere with the pre-existing landscape.

It has a set of exhibitions alluding to the eruption of the Capelinhos Volcano, the formation of the Azores archipelago, the most emblematic volcanoes in the world and the history of the Azorean lighthouses. It also has an auditorium and a temporary exhibition of rock and mineral samples.

It is possible to climb to the Lighthouse and enjoy this recent volcanic landscape originated by the 1957/58 eruption.

It was nominated by the European Museum Forum for the European Museum of the Year Award in 2012.

It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome you to NatHaz25 on the island of Faial, Azores.

However, there is an urgent matter that needs your attention.

Housing occupancy rates in Faial are reaching exceptionally high values. This high demand could quickly exhaust room availability.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation. We look forward to welcoming you to the island of Faial and providing you with a memorable NatHaz25!
